Biography

Max Lanfranconi is a pioneering figure in the global psytrance scene, renowned for his influential work as a DJ, producer, and co-founder of the legendary projects **Etnica** and **Pleiadians**. Originating from Milan, Italy, Max began his musical journey in the mid-1980s, co-producing singles on the independent label Time Out. By the late '80s, he was organizing the iconic "Dance All Night" parties in Italy, which were among the first official events in the country to continue until morning light. citeturn0search0

In 1993, Max met Andrea Rizzo, and together with Maurizio Begotti and Carlo Paterno, they formed **Etnica**, a group that would become a cornerstone of the Goa trance movement. Their debut EP was released in 1994, followed by the seminal album *The Juggeling Alchemists Under The Black Light* in 1995. Etnica's innovative sound, characterized by spacey and cosmic elements, set them apart in the psychedelic trance scene. citeturn0search0

In 1995, seeking a more party-oriented sound, the group launched the side project **Pleiadians**, releasing influential albums like *Identified Flying Object* (1997) and *Family of Light* (1999). Another side project, **Crop Circles**, was a collaboration with the Italian band Lotus Omega, resulting in the album *Tetrahedron*, which was finalized in 1998 and released in 2008. citeturn0search0
